NEARBY LUOHU GATEWAY
Wutong Mountain South
梧桐山南
A nearby gateway on the Luohu side for exploring the mountain's southern approach. Pick the entrance and trail first; a Metro station with the mountain's name does not make a summit walk short or easy.

A mountain-side starting point and a carefully planned forest outing.
Trail difficulty and the onward approach need checking; a summit outing is different from a neighbourhood walk.
Wutong Mountain South · Line 2 / 8 through service
Wutong Mountain South is in Liantang, Luohu. It is included here as a nearby gateway, not as a Yantian subdistrict.
A Luohu gateway to a mountain spanning several districts
Luohu's official entrance guide places the southern gate on the north side of Luosha Road in Liantang, near Wutong Mountain South Exit D. The wider scenic area spans Luohu, Yantian and Longgang.
For a visit, distinguish a neighbourhood walk near the entrance from an ascent. Choose a named trail and turning point that suit your group before leaving the station.
- Save the southern entrance rather than a general mountain pin.
- Keep your starting point and intended finish visible on the same route plan.
Reach the southern approach, then follow the chosen route
Wutong Mountain South sits at the Line 2 / 8 connection. Through service means the line-number change itself does not require a transfer. Check the train's destination and use the station signs for your chosen exit.
The southern entrance near Exit D is an orientation point, not a substitute for trail directions. Confirm the walking approach, open gate and permitted route against the current scenic-area information.
- Do not substitute the north gate for a southern trailhead.
- If considering a shuttle, verify its service day and return stop before relying on it.
Assess a Liantang home as a daily base
For housing, compare the actual Liantang address with the route to your work or school. Inspect the walk to the station and shops independently of your interest in hiking.
On the viewing visit, look at daylight, ventilation, moisture, drainage and access after rain. Check how you would carry groceries home and where you would meet a delivery or taxi.
- Walk the regular errands route before adding the mountain entrance.
- For families, confirm schools for the Luohu address with the relevant admissions authority.
Lingyun is an ascent to plan carefully
The municipal tourism bureau describes Lingyun as a steep route from the Wutong Mountain South approach. Select it for its terrain only after considering everyone's fitness; do not treat the station name as a promise of an easy outing.
Lesser Wutong and Greater Wutong are different objectives. The official park directory identifies Greater Wutong as Shenzhen's highest peak. A plan to reach it needs its own route, descent and daylight margin.
- Choose a turnaround point and return route before starting.
- Use current scenic-area signs if a trail is closed; do not follow an old map around a barrier.
Make the first outing match the conditions
Start with the southern entrance and route information. A shorter open route can still make a worthwhile visit when heat, rain or your group's energy rules out an ascent.
- Check the official weather, scenic-area opening notice and trail restrictions before departure.
- Bring water, suitable footwear, sun or rain protection and a charged phone.
- Start early enough for your selected descent, follow the posted route and keep the station return in your plan.
Make your first visit count
- Named southern entrance and chosen trail
- Current closure, opening and weather notices
- Difficulty, turnaround point and daylight for the descent
- Return station or any independently confirmed shuttle
