Bilingual Schools in Shenzhen

Compare six Shenzhen private-school options with bilingual learning or international pathways. Start with your child's grade, identity documents and intended qualification: a bilingual curriculum does not make every campus open to every applicant.

School programmes span early years to Grade 12. The government-listed entity is a private Grades 1–9 school; confirm the entity for early-years or senior-high enrollment.
School type & curriculum
Chinese national-curriculum foundations, liberal-arts learning, interdisciplinary projects and studio options.

How to apply
Contact admissions for an information visit and grade availability. For compulsory education, complete the Nanshan admission process; an inquiry or school offer alone is insufficient.

Fall 2026 published annual tuition: Grades 1–9 ¥263,000; Grades 10–12 ¥285,000. Meals and transport are additional; confirm your full quotation.

Who can apply
Accepts Chinese students. The 2026 city plan includes a domestic senior-high route with an English-grade condition; confirm which route applies to your applicant status.
How to apply
Consult the current school admissions notice and city senior-high route. The school's application page separately explains transfer-credit review and restricted transfer entry points.
Fees & extra costs
The official page shows 2025–26 fees, not a verified 2026–27 quotation. Request current tuition, boarding and arts-track supplements directly.

Admissions & planning

Understand the school type first

This shortlist covers domestic private schools and specific international-pathway programmes, not a single admissions category. The Chinese legal name and the actual division matter more than an English brand name.

  • Private compulsory education remains district-managed; schools for children of foreign personnel cannot admit mainland Chinese students under the 2026 city notice.
  • Ask which legal school, curriculum, student record and graduation qualification your offer actually covers.

Compare learning and language

A bilingual label does not promise a fixed Chinese–English split. Huitong combines national-curriculum foundations with broader projects; Meisha describes domestic and international progression options; Vanke Meisha Academy offers separate US, UK and arts pathways at senior-secondary level.

  • Request a sample timetable for the exact grade, including the teaching language of maths, science and humanities.
  • Discuss Chinese and English support, homework expectations and any costs for additional learning support.

Apply through the right route

For compulsory-school entry, use the district process: school inquiry forms are not enrollment. Shenzhen's 2026 rules prohibit selection through tests, interviews or assessments at this stage. Generic assessment language on a school website must not be treated as an exception.

  • Separate Grade 1, Grade 7 and transfer applications from senior-high admissions; confirm the relevant window and student-registration route.
  • The annual senior-high plan defines approved routes and applicant categories. A private school's marketing invitation does not replace those conditions.

Budget beyond tuition

Only Huitong's Fall 2026 tuition schedule is reproduced below. The linked Vanke Meisha Academy and Meisha fee pages still show 2025–26: ask for the current schedule rather than treating those amounts as a new-year quote.

  • Ask for a written breakdown of tuition, meals, transport, boarding, uniforms, devices, examinations and optional activities.
  • Check the charging period, refund policy and whether support services are included before paying.

Make the visit practical

Use these profiles as starting points for school conversations, not rankings or confirmation of an available place. Test the weekday journey and compare the programme your child would actually attend.

  • Ask about safeguarding, the class timetable, additional learning needs, parent communication and how progress is reported.
  • Confirm the campus and division in writing: shared branding or neighbouring buildings do not guarantee automatic progression.

Common questions

Can a mainland Chinese child attend a bilingual school?

Some domestic private schools offer that route, subject to district and programme requirements. Do not infer eligibility from the word international: a foreign-personnel school is a different category, and particular divisions can have their own status restrictions.

Does visiting or applying directly guarantee a school place?

No. For compulsory education, the district admissions platform and student-registration process still matter. Ask the school to explain the applicable official route before paying or making relocation commitments.

Are the published fees the total annual cost?

Not necessarily. Meals, transport, boarding or programme extras may be separate. Check the academic year: a fee page still labelled 2025–26 is not a confirmed 2026–27 price.
