- 1
Arrive & settle in
Travel to your base and keep the first evening nearby.
- 2
Explore at your pace
Use a full day for Gulangyu or a coastal neighbourhood; check ferry and attraction arrangements first.
- 3
Leave room to return
Leave time for the trip back to the correct station or airport.
Plan the Journey
Xiamen and Xiamen North are different railway stations; compare the final transfer to your base. For Gulangyu, check the visitor ferry route, terminal, accepted travel document and current timetable separately. A rail ticket does not include the island transfer.
Kulangsu (Gulangyu) is UNESCO-listed. Weather and ferry capacity can change a plan; confirm the current operator instructions.
Choose a Useful Base
Choose accommodation around your actual arrival station or first activity. Check the exact address, final transfer, check-in time, cancellation terms and whether the property can accept your travel documents before paying.

Photographed from Gulangyu toward Xiamen, not a view of Gulangyu's buildings. It does not identify a current visitor ferry departure point. The normal Commons thumbnail was used after the large original was rate-limited.
