A Simple Weekend Plan
Suggested pacing and spending styles are editorial guidance, not minimum-stay rules or price quotations.
- 1
Arrive & settle in
Use the arrival day to reach your base and settle in.
- 2
Explore at your pace
Spend a full day on one river or countryside route, with an indoor alternative if weather changes.
- 3
Leave room to return
Keep the final morning light and allow for the station or airport transfer.
Plan the Journey
Choose Guilin or Yangshuo as your main base before buying transport. Guilin, Guilin North, Guilin West and Yangshuo are different stations: match the arrival and onward transfer to your accommodation. For a river trip, confirm the departure pier and where the service finishes.
River conditions, rain and visibility affect the experience. This is a better long-weekend candidate than a rushed day trip.
Choose a Useful Base
Choose accommodation around your actual arrival station or first activity. Check the exact address, final transfer, check-in time, cancellation terms and whether the property can accept your travel documents before paying.
