What makes this area different

Da Nanshan is the main hill in Nanshan Park, an outdoor destination rather than a residential neighbourhood. The municipal guide describes wooded slopes, a 336-metre main peak and views across Shenzhen Bay. Different entrances create different outings: the district’s route guide distinguishes the gentler Bieshu approach from the steeper Customs approach. Choose the entrance, viewpoint and descent together, and adapt the plan to your group and the weather instead of assuming every route is a simple flat stroll.

A suggested visit

Plan a visit around your priorities

  1. Choose the Bieshu or Customs approach, a suitable viewpoint and a descent before setting off.
  2. Follow signed public paths and adjust the climb to the slowest member of your group.
  3. Plan the return to the city before dusk and keep a shorter option if conditions change.

Before you choose

Choose the right hill route

  1. Check the park’s current entrance and trail notices; a nearby metro station does not establish step-free access.
  2. Review heat, thunderstorms and typhoon warnings, and carry water, sun protection and shoes with grip.
  3. Match the stairs, descent and return transport to children, older relatives and the group’s energy; avoid a fixed completion-time promise.
